Lombard Odier clinches Green Finance accolade at EuroCham Sustainability Awards 2021

Paying homage to our roots and deeply ingrained values in sustainability and responsible investing, Lombard Odier is pleased to receive the “Green Finance” accolade at the EuroCham Sustainability Awards 2021 in Singapore. This is the first sustainability-related award for Asia, and a strong recognition of our efforts in driving the sustainability and green finance agenda.

2021 marks the second year of the EuroCham Sustainability Awards, which recognises companies of both Singaporean and European origins for their sustainability efforts in the categories of Green Finance, Smart Mobility, Green Consumer, Biodiversity and Agriculture, and Sustainable Workforce. These categories represent strategic areas common to both the European Union (EU) Commission’s European Green Deal and Singapore’s Sustainability Concept Plan.

Accorded by the European Chamber of Commerce (Singapore), this award acknowledges Lombard Odier’s robust and comprehensive strategy and positioning around sustainability, with a strong focus on wealth and asset management – a less visible dimension of Green Finance compared to other traditional banks.

The panel of judges appreciated specifically the Group’s B-Corp certification as a strong and unique differentiator in the industry. In addition, given the focus on climate change and recent COP26 in Glasgow, the judges found the Lombard Odier Portfolio Temperature Alignment (LOPTA) tool extremely relevant in approaching sustainable investment using a scientific and measured approach to generate performance.

On behalf of Lombard Odier, Vincent Magnenat, Limited Partner and Chief Executive Officer, Asia, received the award from Mr. Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Trade and Industry of Singapore,

In the lead up to the Awards ceremony, the European Chamber of Commerce also organised a closed-door dialogue and panel discussion, to discuss how companies both European and Singapore in origin, can partner with policy makers and come together to bring about meaningful changes in the area of sustainability.

Aside from the award winners, attendees also included Minister Gan, the European Union Ambassador to Singapore, President of the European Chamber of Commerce (Singapore) and other presidents of the National European Chambers.

“We are extremely delighted to receive the Green Finance award, a testament of our forward-looking approach in ESG initiatives and long standing track record in sustainability and responsible investing,” said Vincent Magnenat, Limited Partner and Chief Executive Officer, Asia at Lombard Odier.
